How do I handle all of the bias that Yahoo! throws at us in the way of news? The socialism is disgusting? Disgusting to say the least, maybe there are Yahoo! Newsgroups that deal with this bias issue?

What is Yahoo's NNTP address for newsgroups? I had Earthlink before, and have a co-account with Verizon now. For their newsgroups, and to download binaries, I just use "news.verizon.net" or "news.east.earthlink.net." My newsreader program does not accept "news.yahoo.com" or "news.yahoo.net." Can anyone tell me the right NNTP. Thanks.

Yahoo Answers vs Newsgroups? I stumbled upon the answer website and answered a few questions, but I see errors in the answers a questionaire picks and recently have seen something about point gaining. I think I am going back to newsgroups. There is much more interaction and feedback in newsgroups. There is no rating, though It would be nice to have. Instead, there are MVP's (Most Valuable players). It would be nice to have some sort of rating system in the newsgroups. The people in those groups tend to care more about a certain subject and there are administrators to weed out the bad guys. Anybody else use newsgroups? If not, I suggest you give it a try. Plus, questions like the previous one are deleted by an MVP before anybody even gets the chance to read them. That goes for Spamming as well. In addition to what I have already said, this is developing into nothing more than a chat room, but with limited chat. MVP's are ranked by other MVPs. One can't just attain that level. It is just like being nominated president. Censoring Spam and idiotic comments rates high in my book.

oth o replied: "What do you mean when you say "Newsgroups"? Do you mean Usenet? Don't forget terminology is very fluid nowadays. You talk about MVPs as if they are standard. I know that in Usenet they are not, even though it is possible to set Usenet Groups to be moderated. Who decides who the MVPs are? I would be hesitant to join any Group where some appointed individuals call the shots and have the power to censor others in the Group."

d3midway replied: "This site is not bad it is a good source for info! It does not matter what best answer is picked as long as others benefit from the questions & answers! I know a lot of the BA are not the best ones but maybe you got a lot of good info from the other answers. You just have to ignore the dumb, stupid, cute, funny & rude answers and you will do ok on here!!! Just my opinion!!!!"
